Mowing Over Turkey Eggs

Eric was getting some training mowing on the big tractor. Nice hair, eh? We mow right over small bushes and scrubby trees hoping to encourage lots of grass to grow. One such bush must have been the hiding place for some quail or wild turkey eggs. On the next pass by is when we noticed them.

It’s quite a few eggs. We gathered them up and took them to the house to see if we could incubate them and raise whatever hatched, be it quail or turkeys.

This was our incubator for the wild turkey eggs. A lamp on the kitchen counter. Diane would examine the eggs every so often to see if she could hear anything or see anything growing inside. At length, we finally decided that they must have gotten too hot under the lamp. So much for our attempt to save them.
